Justin Drew Aiming Higher
6/12/2009 10:10:17 PM - Dean Thompson

Team Drew Motorsport finished last seasons Victorian Modified Production Association point score third to Andrew Blackwell and the aim before a lap is turned is to settle for no worse than last season, however the coveted top position is where the team wants to be.

Justin and the crew including Damian Smith, father Gary, Jason Evans, Wayne Sherman and Josh Fort all look forward to another fantastic season that will include the VMPA rounds beginning at Western Speedway Hamilton this weekend December the 12th, before heading to Horsham on December 27th, then Ballarat in February and Mildura and Nyora in April 2010.

The VZ Circle Track Race Craft # 7 will compete at Avalon Raceway in the Christmas Cup and the West Coast Classic in December and January and other events that don’t clash with major events along the way. Tasmania this season is on the agenda for the Tasmanian title and the Australian title. The NSW title is on the radar again with a trip to Lismore and along with the Victorian title this season at Horsham on the 30th of January it makes for a busy schedule.

The biggest trip will be the long haul to Maryborough Queensland for the Australian Open event which is now an annual ‘Big Dollar’ event on the calendar for Modified Sedans late in the season.

The new engine is ready and of course extra horsepower has been found and Justin is excited about hitting the race track this weekend at Hamilton. “We have had a shocking start to the season to be honest. We were involved in somebody else’s crash at Avalon early that tore up our front end a little, damaged pulleys we couldn’t fix on the night and then at Ballarat we couldn’t even get the car on the race track due to a failure of the cam follower. Then Nyora was a rain out that has been re-scheduled, so to say I’m itching to get out there is an understatement. We thank all our sponsors for their support once again and we look forward to some major results again this season.”
